What is RockFest?

Launched in 2017, RockFest Malaysia is a music event with the objective of providing a platform for musicians to showcase and share their talent. Through a competition format, we offer musicians of all ages the opportunity to compete either as solo performers or or in groups in open and graded categories. Participants from Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei, Australia, Hong Kong, and Singapore have been adjudicated in the past by local and international professional musicians and music educators.

During the pandemic in 2020, RockFest kept up the pace by migrating to the digital platform. For RockFest 2024, there will be a combination of digital and physical platforms used - preliminary video round (competition based on video performance) and live finals (competition based on live performance). The instruments include Drums, Vocals, Contemporary Piano, Classical Piano, Violin, Ukulele, Acoustic Guitar, Bass Guitar, Electric Guitar, and Band. A newly added category for RockFest 2024 is Ukulele Open Group.
